Thank you for visiting the website of St Alban The Martyr - Forest Town.

St. Alban’s Church was built in 1911, a few years after the nearby Crown Farm Colliery opened. It is the parish church for most of Forest Town.

St Albans is a friendly, relaxed and non-judgmental church. We welcome newcomers, visitors and those that are just curious.

All are assured of a very warm welcome, friendly chat and after service refreshments.

We will never pressurise you to attend Church. You can attend as often or as little as you want. The Church is here to serve you whenever you need it.

This is your website - for the Church and community of Forest Town. We want to know what you would like to see on this website and welcome all comments and suggestions.

Please contribute to the development of this site - we want it to reflect and serve the church and wider community effectively - please help us to do this!

Children are particularly welcomed at all of our services and can use the play area during services.

The first Sunday in every month is reserved for our Sunday School

This is an interactive session which is themed towards children and they seem to really enjoy!

Why not pop in and see us?

GOD KNOWS YOU

When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts...
God knows how hard you have tried.

When you've cried so long and your heart is in anguish...
God has counted your tears.

If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by...
God is waiting with you.

When you're lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call..
God is by your side.

When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn...
God has a solution.

When nothing makes sense and you are confused or frustrated...
God has the answer.

If suddenly your outlook is brighter and you find traces of hope...
God has whispered to you.

When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for...
God has blessed you.

When something joyful happens and you are filled with awe...
God has smiled upon you.

When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow...
God has opened your eyes and called you by name.

Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing...
GOD KNOWS.                                                       Anon.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
