Our Faith

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you can not do this simple little thing, why do you worry about the rest?   Luke 12: 25-26

The congregation of St Alban The Martyr, alongside all other Christians, seek to follow the words, teachings and example of Jesus Christ.

Christians believe that Jesus Christ was an expression of God in human form. The coming of Jesus among us, fully human, serves to demonstrates that God is personally concerned with all human emotions and experiences, both good and the bad.

Jesus lived the human existence, His body tired, he was often hungry and he felt pain; He showed emotions of anger, love, anguish and sadness; He experienced learning, work and obedience and was subjected to temptation.

Through his ministry, death and resurrection, Jesus made possible the reconciliation of God and humankind.

God sent his Holy Spirit to be a guide and teacher. It is the presence of the Holy Spirit which Christians believe supports and leads the Church in its Christian mission.

Personal Reflections Of Faith

Pam

I don't know where I would be without my faith. My faith has helped me get through the bad times in my life. I can't remember what my life was like before I came to Christ. I always considered myself a Christian but when I found Jesus Christ - WOW!  What a different life I have now. I'm a lot happier, I know that Jesus is with me everyday: He is there in times of joy and sorrow and I know I can depend on him: He will never let me down.  He has changed my life for the better.

Faith is like love - the deeper you are in, the harder it is to put into words. Faith gives new life each and everyday and constant inner renewal. Faith turns the Bible into the word of God. Faith pushes away from money, power and being self-centred towards God and God's values and others and their needs. Faith turns black and white into colour.

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:9-13
